Actually they did. MSN Money has an interesting article about switching to a diet of rice, corn and beans -- not just for health but also to save money.
I'm not sure I could convince my family to switch to a vegetarian diet. Or a pescetarian diet.
Red beans and rice didn't miss me

There's nothing like a big bowl of brown rice, red kidney beans and salt and pepper.
My big weakness is pasta. I love it, but it always put on the pounds like nothing else. I'm trying to switch from pasta to more rice dishes, but admit i don't often eat rice as it takes longer to cook.
I eat a well-rounded diet with a pretty wide variety of fruits and veggies, and very little red meat. I get my protein from the occasional chicken, turkey, seafood, nuts and seeds. And beans.
